VWC Pod Game 1 (Geek19)

Image
Geek19's Plo list vs CadetVW's Bail Bricks The Vassal World Cup is upon us and I had the privilege of playing the illustrious Geek19 s my first match in POD Leia.  You may know him from such Armada blogs as cannotgetyourshipout and Blissfully Ignorant Gaming .  So you might say he knows a thing or two about Armada.  This would both be our first match so a major win here could set the tone for the rest of our POD games.   Geek19's Fleet That's a lot of bombers that can lock down redirects Nevoota Bee and Plo powered ARC-170s can dish out some mean damage and his Jedi in the squad ball will surely help melt my meager squad ball quickly enough to let those ARCs begin their bombing runs.  The ships themselves are alright at either staying out of the fight (consular), being a little tankier than their points suggest (Peltas), OR just being a major part of the list but somehow still 79 points (Nevoota Bee).  This is very much a combined arms fleet wit...

The End of my Clone Wars

Image
Clones can only carry you so far... So.... I made it into the Round of 8 of the Clone Wars tournament.  My Boarding Trooper Clones would continue to roll on and hopefully through a massive wall of.... 4 Munificents!? Ok, we'll see about that,  because they are ALL built as super tanks!  That's right my next round I was paired against Beanicus and he brought 4 Munificent Frigates and zero starfighters.  Without further ado, this report has been delayed long enough.  Let's hop into it. Beanicus Fleet   Oh, you shot him...well, let's just say that didn't happen So a quick breakdown of the fleet reveals that every ship can send shields to their friends, except for Wat Tambor and he can just take them from his friends.  They also all have LTT for consistency of red dice and Kraken lets them all fix one of their dice too.  This is going to be one mean wall of firepower and shields to battle through. As a side note, the list sure does make it easy ...

Clone Wars Round 1 Cut

Game 4 The Clone Wars Tournament rages on.  With a grand total of 22 Tournament Points I somehow scrambled my way to second place in the Euro division of the Clone Wars Tournament.  From here the Swiss rounds are over and we were going to Sudden Death, or rather elimination rounds.  Now you could play the game and go for a bare minimum of kills in order to win and keep eeking by, but we're here for Clone on Droid action and I would do my best to win while still having fun and playing the game of Star Wars Armada.  Gotta push those plastic spaceships around and throw dice, even if they're virtual.   For the next round I was paired up with PT106 who was cruising into the round with a solid 22 Tourney points as well.  I was surprised I made it this far but I was having fun and learning new Clone wars stuff every game.  PT106 was also rolling in with some Acclamators and C70s, so it'd be some Clone on Clone action.  Without further ado, let...

Clone Wars: Episode 3

Image
Game 3 of the Vassal Clone Wars I rolled into Round 3 still at the virtual table 3, still riding my coattails from the Round 1 victory and licking my round 2 wounds.  Pretty sure I was only here because everyone else is still figuring out Clone Wars and eager to shoot each other as there have been lots of bloodbaths where lots of things die and the end score is 6-5.  Part of that may be due to the fact that the defense tokens of the Medium CW ships are only 66% about keeping them alive.  The other 33% of their 'defense' tokens are about hurting the enemy. Therefore, maybe more ship die than we're completely used to. For this match I was paired up with none other than Green Knight himself, the brainchild behind the entire Clone Wars Tournament and also the superpower who pushed Vassal into the Clone Wars era.  GK is quite the good Armada player and brought a very Janky Obi-Wan flavored list.  If you haven't been keeping tabs on the lists, his list is below ...
