Carrolton, GA Prime Game 1 - Return from Exodus

Luck had me travelling near Atlanta, Georgia during this past weekend and low and behold a Prime Championship!  So of course I brought some ships, pushed them around, threw some dice, and went 'Pew Pew!' There was a good showing at Quest Comic shop, 21 players so we would go three rounds.  And the store had plenty of room to accommodate us.  They even brought us pizza and drinks mid game for lunch if you chipped in.  Overall, great store and a good place to play if you find yourself in Georgia. Now to the game.  Luckily, I did not travel across the globe to get a bye and watch Armada be played.  That held true all day so I got all three games in.   I was brings my Dodanna Exodus fleet whose evolution was detailed here.    Fret started as a typo but then became what I was doing about the fleet My first game was against Chris, one of the regulars of the store.  He was bringing an interesting though potentiall...

Ackbar 3-ship vs Thrawn 2-ship and his Bombers Alright, leading up to Prime season I was testing lots of variants of lists based mostly on Objective play and scoring points from them.  Below is the list.  The overall gameplan is to harvest points while second player or forcing you to give me first player. Insert lists here My usual opponent picked Hyperspace Assault because its new and we were curious how it would play.  Turns out you can get a lot of points if you play it right, spoiler alert, I didn't max the scoring opportunities. Setup I setup the objective tokens in the corners of the map on my side and prepared to trundle along to score points.  Unfortunately, after deployment 1, I completely gave up everything about how the game would unfold.  I built my battle line with he placed his Quasar and squad ball in the middle and his ISD on the far side to cutoff the trundling battle line.  He set Pryce for round 2 i believe. Roun...

Evolution of a Prime List (mine) Welcome to a deep (and longer than intended) dive into the twisted creation of my latest list for Prime season.  It all started with an idea to use two big ships to harvest points through objectives.  I don't really care to play the bidding game (12 seems aggressive to me usually) so I've gotten used to using all the points for upgrades and picking some scary objectives.  Sometimes it ends up with me as first player, most times it ends up with someone getting first/lasted. What my fleet building exercise look like My first creation was like many ideas I'm sure everyone has had.  It was rough and pretty unfocused.  List below for your consideration. My idea was to chuck lots of red dice and be able to cruise along the edge while harvesting points.  The MC75 would lead the way so if you did stop the conga line it you'd be taking a pretty big front arc with a guaranteed HIE.  Proxy mines seemed c...

Krennic's Cymoon vs ALL the TIE Bombers Hello and welcome to one of my first of hopefully many normal battle reports.  These are intended to be fun-flled learning experiences for both myself and hopefully others.  The general format I'll try to follow is a bit of a background/rationale for each of the fleets and then launch into the turn by turn and follow with some lessons learned. If you have any comments, questions, or advice please do not hesitate to offer it up. I’m obviously new and still working on providing a good reading experience to everyone and analyzing my own gameplay and mistakes. The goal of my fleet (found below) was to leverage the raw dice power of a Krennic Cymoon and then I’ve been wanting to try some new RITR tanky Arquittens as a side piece. Not the greatest way to build a fleet but it's my blog and my plastic spaceships so I get to try what I want.   In general, get some of the new SSD and RITR cards on the table. Piett is ...
